Alison J Hoffmaster "Ali" began
studying the healing arts at The University of Houston while receiving
a bachelor's degree in Nutrition. She then went on to complete
Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
Ali practiced primary care allopathic medicine until moving to Maryland
in 2003. Today, Ali continues to provide patient care in psychiatry
and addiction in Baltimore. A desire to integrate holistic healing and
western medicine led her to pursue the study of yoga instruction. Ali
completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Yoga Center of Columbia in 2006, Yoga for Moms Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training in 2009,
and 500 hour Advanced Teacher Training at Kripalu
Center for Yoga and Healing in 2009. Her passion is to share the
empowering self healing benefits of yoga and its related teachings.
Ali incorporates teaching methods from many traditions including
Viniyoga, Anusara, Iyengar, Kundalini, and Kripalu. Her warm, gentle,
and welcoming energy along with her soothing voice provides an
atmosphere that encourages students to relax deeply and be present with
their yoga.
